Sunshine falling on the bay side Driving back down Left my lover with her brown eyes for the Parkway South One more (breaking up again) Two more (breaking up another time) Feeling like a broke down ferris wheel Screaming for our lives One, two, three and we're falling down Three, two, one and we're jumping now Last night That'll be our last fight Driving back down Tail lights shining in a dead night On the Parkway South One more (breaking up again) Two more (breaking up another time) One, two, three and we're falling down Three, two, one and we're jumping now.

Mary-Anne 03:42
There's this girl I know She's as lazy as a week of snow There's this girl I know She's a city in a tornado There's this girl I know She's as quiet as an undertow And when the waves were ten feet high She told me, "go have fun, and die." And then I ride Mary-Anne, Mary-Anne I don't think I'll ever understand Mary-Anne, Mary-Anne Why can't I be your man? I could tell just from the moment we looked at one another I could tell she would be the best kind of disaster Paddle, paddle out in a hurricane I'm drowning Scouting swells and coming over the crest But she's not there, No, she's not there. No, she's not there.

There's a diving horse's ghost under Atlantic City skies and all the oil from your sunscreen, it melts into the eyes of the lifeguards watching bathers, and nobody bothers me 'cause everyone is counting waves on vacation by the sea Well I can hear the dynamite breaking down the old hotel The concrete, it's still buried there deep beneath the well that made our water famous with a national award While mothers had their babies in the old pregnancy ward Now the hospital's appended to a new casino floor Membership will get you parking, put it on your card There's a diving horse's ghost that's buried deep beneath the pier But you'd never know it looking at the hell that they built here.

I've got nothing to say to you that I haven't said before Got another thing to do, you're making up some chore and I don't know if I believe you when you say... I don't believe you anyway. Waiting on another call again Waiting for the axe to fall again, you're sure. Waiting on another call again Waiting for the axe to fall again, you're sure. Make your home in moments that you always hate Taking pleasure only in the love you take and I don't know if I believe you when you say... I don't believe you anyway. Waiting on another call again Waiting for the axe to fall again, you're sure. Waiting on another call again Waiting for the axe to fall again, you're sure.

Jerry Ryan 03:10
Back in Gordon's Alley, there's a bar that used to serve the best meal in town. My father took my mother there before they went and tore the Traymore down. Saw their picture on the wall shaking from the band upstairs. The frame escapes and falls, it hits the ground. Jerry saw a psychic by the bay, the kitchen might be closed but the kids are dancing to the music. Jerry saw a psychic by the bay, casinos might be closed but the kids are dancing to the music. Maybe Miss America is singing at the Boneyard to her crown? People outside hating on the place they love to hate but still, they stick around. Jerry saw a psychic by the bay, the kitchen might be closed but the kids are dancing to the music. Jerry saw a psychic by the bay, casinos might be closed but the kids are dancing to the music.

Past Time 05:29
That's just the old junk kicking in. I got used to it. I haven't got used to it. It's just that way, anymore. Kicked my nervousness, I haven't got used to it. I hear the footsteps on the floor. Do you have time for this? I know it's past time for this. I know it's past time. You say, "this won't be hard...Why should it ever be?" "A push is a start." I guess we'll have to wait and see. Just carry on...It's better than it ever was. It's turning on... It doesn't matter if my hands stay cold shaking in the body I've been breaking in That's just my mind breaking down. Do you have time for this? I know it's past time for this. I know it's past time. You say, "this won't be hard...Why should it ever be?" "A push is a start." I guess we'll have to wait and see. Just carry on...It's better than it ever was. It's turning on...

I hear billiards and skeeball when I close my eyes. Invisible heat under clouds in the skies. Alone on the boardwalk, I duck into stores to stay dry. Well I feel bad for my friends who can't feel their reflections. Sand stuck in sheets or their burning complexions. September is coming so I guess you'll be going back home. Dying leaves in the gutter drag across the street. She promised me she'd stay. Facing the wind blowing cooler and idly by. I see lights on the water from the bridge's reflection. A boat in the bay but the stars are gone tonight. Silent and lonely in this beach town with vacancy signs.
10.
Finding every reason to leave the island, find my car and drive: a hundred fifty miles of Garden State Parkway. Leave it all behind. Every time I'm home for a holiday, wedding, or funeral, I can't decide whether it's a life to leave or heave a baseball at the lights. Home, home for the summer. The carousel's still spinning but it's out of rings.

Special Thanks to Patrick Schridde. He took the picture we have used as our album cover, and his photography in general is pretty incredible. Go check him out on flickr as "goodbyetrouble". Seriously, he's REALLY good.
